90+ Cellars Lot 21 French Fusion
Aromas of rich blackberry fruit, cracked black pepper, and dark chocolate complement the wine's full-bodied and savory texture. Hints of bittersweet anise and raspberries linger in the finish. This is an intensely flavorful French red that exhibits both power and finesse.
Vineyards & Winemaking: Made from Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre picked and grown in sustainable farmed vineyards located in the foothills of the Cevennes. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and then aged for 6 to 8 months before it is bottled without filtration to preserve its unique character and flavor.
A little more about this wine: First vineyards were planted in the Languedoc by the Romans in 125 BC near the Roman colony of Narbo, modern Narbonne. Languedoc wine became more widespread throughout Europe once shipping routes via the Canal du Midi and the railroad were developed in the 19th century. The Languedoc became France’s principal wine supplier (and eventually one of the largest in the world) due to its early recovery from Phylloxera in the late 1800s.
